in the past when I got the cypress mulch it was straw like, the other types are like bark chips and this time I got the cypress mulch and it spread out like dirt, kindof powdery. Is that how it should be?

There are alot of spiders and centipedes in my area and also ants. I hate them all. Someone told me there is a mulch I can put down to keep them away. They didn’t know what kind though. So if someone knows, please let me know
some people say they mulch 2 times a year , in the fall and in the spring…

I saw this thing also growing in the mulch at work. It really looks like someone stuck a carrot into the mulch. It is growing and when you pull the orange thing up there is what looks to be eggs underneath it.

Do I have to clear out the tree leaves from last fall? Pull out the weeds? Plant before or after I lay the mulch? I know I have to water the ground before and after laying down mulch, right?
I have a white brain looking fungus growing out of my mulch and onto my house. I would just dig it up but there is a red ooze coming out of it. Any suggestions?
My son’s school has black shredded tires used for mulch on their playground. I have tried soaking his pants and washing them several times, but I can’t seem to get all of or most of the stain out. Other parents at his school have complained about it, as well. I have not seen any results when I searched online and other than putting him in black or navy pants (not feasable all the time), I’m not sure what my options are. If anyone has any ideas I would sure appreciate them.
I need to put something down to keep mulch in a play area. Landscape timbers are not an options because of the huge risk of termites. We could use pavers but I hope to find something a little more kid friendly.
How can I know if the mulch already decomposed? Thank you so much.
