Our “lawn” currently consists of moss and loads of weeds. We want to somehow get rid of all that so that only soil remains and then plant a lawn from scratch. Whats the cheapest and/or most efficient way of going about this?
I am moving into a lot that is 6000 sq. ft. (40′ x 150′); about 5000 sq. feet of that is lawn (probably way off). How much should I expect to pay for someone to install a automatic sprinkler system on about 5000 sq. ft. of lawn?

I am new to a neighborhood and have my first yard for my kids to play in. But every morning I have to clean up these other animals’ mess. I know cats roam around neighborhoods and that’s no big deal, but I was wondering if there’s maybe something to put on the lawn to make them stay away. We live close to hills, so I’m also wondering about keeping away possums or other animals. any ideas?
Is there a really good way to secure holiday decorations you install on the front lawn? I love to decorate for the holidays however am always hesitant spending tons of money on cool decorations for the front lawn and risk things being stolen.
Any advice?
We are thinking of trying this. We have all the necessary equipment and a trailer to haul with. We are in NE Tennessee, and many folks have about an acre of land. Being unemployed for some time, my husband thought we might try this.

My husband has done this work before, years ago, so it is not completely new to him. Never did it with a rider before! We have the blower thingy, and the edger….I think one thing is to clearly understand what people want, and DON’T want done.
