If an orange tree is strong but it still needs a support pole (no clue how old it is), how long will it be until it produces fruit? Like, years or months or what?

I use to live in ocala and a lot of people from Jamaica and other Islands tried to grow avocado, mango, banana and other tropical trees but it did not grow. I am living in south florida and these fruits grow. I am moving back to Ocala and I want to enjoy growing these same trees. In Ocala it sandy, I want to know should I use top soil before I plant these trees? Also it gets cold in Ocala, how do you keep the ground warm, so the root won’t die. I hope I am making sense and someone can answer my question. thank you! peaches
I bought a flowering cherry tree that was supposed to be without the cherries, because I didn’t want the mess on the ground. The last two years, I have had cherries come out on it and I am not sure if they are even edible. My kids have tried them and said they are really sour. What is up with that. Can that happen? And can you eat the fruit?
Every year I see my fruit-bearing trees start out with lots of fruits budding from the branches, but by the time they fully ripen there’s only a few left. I now realize squirrels and other rodents keep stealing them.
What are my options in keeping vermin from snatching my apples, plums and peaches?
I was trying to grow one straight out of an apple and about a week in a half it started to sprout… sadly, my dog got a hold of it ate it

.
but now, I am trying it again. I planted it 3 days ago. How long will it take to grow apples??

I live in LA and have been at this house for 4 years, this is the first year this tree has produced fruit. It is covered in smallish oval shaped pale orange fruit, they have a soft skin and are fleshy inside – similar to a peach or apricot and have a small brown stone in the middle, some of the bigger fruit have multiple stones. They taste good, not too sweet and you can eat the skin. The leaves are large and dark green and the tree is about 12 feet tall. I was told by a friend it was a kumquat tree but have since found out it’s not…after looking online the only tree I can find it similar too is an apricot but it’s not like the apricots I know from growing up in England, maybe it’s a CA hybrid! Anybody know what it could be? I’m enjoying the fruit but my curiosity is driving me crazy as to what it is!! I have a photo but I’m not sure how to add it to this question.
I’ve had an apple tree for almost seven years and it never grows higher than about 3 feet.
I grew it from a seed inside an apple i ate.
