Can you recommend a safe way to discourage cats from coming into my garden?

Each morning I discover the body parts of birds! I have a child and a dog so any suggestions would have to be safe for them.

Will this bad weather kill my veggie garden?

We are due to have really bad storms today, hail, high winds, etc. and I JUST planted a veggie garden last weekend, some starter plants, some seeds. We also had one last very mild frost sneak in there earlier this week…plants look fine, but whats the chance of my seeds surviving? Anything I can do to protect the garden from the storms or should it be fine? I have a bird net over it right now, that’s it.

The plants will recieve direct sunlight and will get minimal water. Because i live in the florida area it will be very hot but because im doing it for the science department i would perfer that the plants flower and if at all possible attract birds and butterflys. If you could give me websites with a list of these types of plants that would be great!

How do I kill slugs in my garden?

They are evel and destroy my best plants. I would like to put the dead slugs on a bird table to feed the birds. If I have used slug pelllets would they be safe for birds to eat? If not how to kill them without poison. The slugs not the birds.

Cut flower garden- which plants grow best in the tropics?

I live on a Caribbean island. I’d like to put in a cut flower garden so I can do flower arrangements. Right now I have a lot of bird of paradise flowers, but I’m looking for some variety. I’d like to order some seeds from the US, and pick up whatever I can find locally. But I’m not sure what holds over well in a vase. Know of any sites or forums on gardening in the tropics?

I have put new nut holder and nuts inside. I used to see a bird singing for me everyday, but now after I have put those two little food things hunging, they do not come. Do you think in time they will? Feng shui in the vegetable garden?

I am plnning my vegetable garden for this year and would like to incorporate some feng shui into it. I am going to have a bird bath in the middle of the garden. Any other ideas?
