Plant Hardiness Guide

 

RHS definitions for hardiness:

 

H4

H4

H3

H3

H2

H1

Hardy temperatures down to -15C or 5F

Frost Hardy temperatures down to -15C or 5F

Tender temperatures down to 5C or 41F

Half Hardy temperatures down to 0C or 32F

Unheated Greenhouse

Heated Greenhouse or Indoors

 

Most places in the UK except the very far north can grow plants with an H4 rating.

If your garden is in the south you can also include H3 rated plants.

If you have a cold greenhouse you can include H2 rated plants and if you have a heated greenhouse, add H1.
