Very easy to grow and attractive enough to be grown in a flower border. Can be harvested from July right through to the following June if plants are covered for the winter. Keep weeds under control and remove flower-heads. Mulch and water regularly. Pull off outer leaves before they become too big. 

Mid March to mid May n/a Any reasonable soil in sun or light shade. 4 inches apart and 15 inches between rows Mid July to end of June Will keep in a food bag in the fridge for up to two days. Cook leaves as Spinach and the stems as Asparagus.
